Time to share...

Last night I went to see three new bands: Vampire Weekend, Ra Ra Riot, and Tokyo Police Club. Tokyo Police Club has enormous buzz, and they deserve it for the most part. Ra Ra Riot were fascinating to watch, there were 5 people, two who were females playing a cello and a violin. The music was good, though they weren't the best performer of the night. Vampire Weekend is a band from NY and they'll probably be signed to a label soon. Very cool Paul Simon groove to their music, with the edge that youth provides.

Tonight there are two concerts, and I have to decide which to attend. On one hand I have Cold War Kids and Muse - and I've wanted to see Muse for a while now. On the other hand, there is White Rabbits and the Cribs. The Cribs have really been in my head recently, so I want to see them. Plus it is in a smaller venue which is always a plus. AND the cribs would save me over $60 in the tickets alone.

Of course, I imagine it will end up being Muse.

Now, here is my show-and-tell. I've had a picture of my nephew that has been cracking me up for months now, and I don't think I've posted it yet. Here, for your eyes, witness the sheer terror that is:

*sigh*

Well, as you can see, I got one mobil blog to go through. Unfortunately, I had sent at least one before that particular post. I've been in contact with the people at blogger.com and hopefully they'll get it sorted out.

Today was the first day in recent memory where I had a day off to just hang out around the house. Yesterday I was off, but was concert-going, so today is a real, honest to goodness, day off.

And it is driving me crazy.

I just feel like there is so much that I want to do right now, and that I can't decide what to do, so instead I do nothing. I am glad to be writing in this blog of mine, as I still want to keep it going. I've been having some interest in writing again, as I have been formulating a story in my head for a few weeks now. I'm not sure if I'll get it together or not, but I think I may write it as a script for a comic/TV series. I usually don't write that way, so I've got a learning curve ahead of me, but I think that it would fit. Plus, the whole thing has been coming to me like an outsider looking in, unlike many of my other still-born ideas. Probably has a lot to do with me hanging out at the San Diego Comic-con last week.

Honestly, I've been in a complete whirlwind with travel and work and concerts and soccer games and such. MY mind is having trouble keeping tabs of what I've been up to and I have lost all sense of time.

Here's something that just popped into my head:

----
I wasn't prepared for it at all. A simple glance, a chance passing, a flirt and a linger, all of that would have been fine; much more then I expected. As I turned to walk out of the room, I never intended her presence to chain my heart as it had, ripping back to her like a dog reaching the end of his tree-attached leash. A feeling so strong and intense, as amazing as it was cruel.
----

Not great, but it feels good to throw something creative out in the open.

Virgin festival still...

Shade is a hot commodity here. I hid out under a truck after shaking butt at the dance tent. It was Felix da housecat, and he was excellent.

Mobil Blogging

Well, as you all can see below, I've been trying to blog using my phone (yes I did get a blackberry). Unfortunately, it has worked the first time and not since. I've discovered that I can text a message, but not email - even though I could before I linked the posts to my site.

I know, this is a bunch of techno-babble, but I want to be able to post away from my PC. That's when I get the urge most often.

Quick update on my life: Once again, work wants to move me out west. This time it actually feels like it might happen... we'll have to see. Before that happens, I will be headed on over to China. So, I'll be turning 30 on the opposite part of the world from my twin. I'm not exactly happy about it, but I'm not about to miss a trip to China - this time to Shanghai. And I'll be seeing Taiwan as well.

I appreciate all my friends and family whop are busy over-populating the world, and am very happy that they all will make exceptional parents and I am really thankful for the love their children will receive (this is all fact, no sarcasm at all... scout's honor!). However, this is where I want to be in my life, free to see the world. Everytime I meet someone from Europe I am always so jealous, as they seem to get to see so much more of the world then us Americans (probably thanks to their extended vacation time). Well, I'm getting my world viewing on before I'm too old to really experience it. I love the fact that I get scared shitless everytime, and love even more that I consistently amazed at the world that exists.

I have a feeling some more posts are going to come along... I've had a lot on my mind lately and it helps to get it out into the world.

The crowd at daft punk

I got to go see the punk a few weeks ago. It was amazing. If they come to your town go see!
