All that noise, and all that sound...
Well, it is 1:25 in the AM Friday night/Saturday Morning. So that means I'm typing whilst intoxicated. wrong. Instead I just spent the past two and a half hours AT THE BOOKSTORE. Yes, tonight the new Harry Potter book hit the streets. Wow, you say, I didn't know you were such a big HArry Potter fan. Oh, I'm not. The g/f is. I haven't read one book of the series, and yet I still have went to midnight sales for the last two books. freakin' crazy.
Overall, this trip wasn't that bad, as - though the bookstore was teeming (that's right, TEEMING) with knee-highs - the crowd really wasn't that bad. Think domesticated cows in a full barn.
I did make two purchases, the latest copy of Wizard (because the only thing I like more than reading comics is reading ABOUT comics), and the next installment of the Naruto manga. You know, I love me some oriental culture, and I love me some comics, but I haven't really gotten completely into the manga scene. I fear that, especially with the younger generation gaga over manga, this may be the first slight sign of my inevitable march into uncontrolled adulthood. I wonder, this time next year, will I even know what the kids think is cool? (Hell, do I even know now?) Not that I care, but I use it as a barometer to see just how far removed from pop culture I am. It fascinates me.
The good side is that once I've made it into FULL adulthood, senility is next, and that's when the REAL fun begins. I may even skip adulthood...
Saw the new Charlie and The Chocalate Factory tonight. In IMAX. Which makes the second IMAX movie this week, as I saw BAtman Begins in IMAX last night. As far as Charlie goes, it was enjoyable, Johnny Depp was a really weird/crepy Willy Wonka (modeled after Micheal Jackson?), and the squirrels were FREAKIN' AWESOME, but I still have a special place for the original. I mean, no one sang a crappy song in this movie (I've got a Golden TIcket).
As for Batman Begins? Wowza, I loved it. LOVED IT. I can't decide if it is better then the ORIGINAL, but I have a feeling it is. Ra's Al Ghul was great, but the Scarecrow stole the scene. They should make a spin-off just for him.
Anyway, that's it for now, need to go sleep. Or videogame, whichever. Might stop in tomorrow, want to do some serious discussion about the circles of hell. Trust me, when I get around to that, it will reveal a lot about myself.
Ok, later.
