So Darling, Darling stand...

Just saw something VERY disturbing. Before jumping on over to partake in a little posting action, saw a bit of the Family Guy in which four of the main characters drink that drink that makes you puke. They all then spend the next 5 minutes puking all over each other. True, it's animated puke, but bothersome none the less. If you didn't see, it's something like the scene from "Stand By Me". The movie, not the song.
PSP goodness is still going on at a very high rate. Some truly, truly amazing people managed to create what they are calling "homebrew", which is the ability to run emulators on the handheld. So, all that technology, and I use it to get my old-school game on. I'm talking Super Mario Brothers, the first. AND - best. NES. Game. Ever. - the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I suppose some people would think it a shame that I spent all the money to play games from the 80s, but these games are classics for a REASON. And, as if that's not enough, I also get some SUPER NINTENDO action in the form of FINAL FANTASY III and CHRONO TRIGGER. CT holds a special place in my heart as I spent many hours NOT in class at Albright beating the HELL out of that game.
So, yeah, yesterday was spent playing videogames and reading comic books. In other words, one of the best days I've had in a long time. I had intended taking time to watch a movie, but fell asleep with HGTV on the tube. I imagine my mom would read that last bit and nod her head approvingly, tears in her eyes.
Oh, yeah, speaking of MOVIES, saw the Fantastic Four Friday night. I was expecting the worst, as this was Fantastic FREAKIN' Four, my favorite comic of all time, and was well aware that Hollywood cares NOTHING for the history of franchises like this. Well, after the first half hour, I couldn't help but convulse a little with how they butchered the characters and origins. I mean, Reed Richards looked like an F-ing buffoon. And Doom up in space with the four? BAH! Still, once I got over these issues, the movie did proceed to get some things right. Over all, I actually have a positive outlook for the inevitable sequels. even though they made Doom a METAL MAN. jesus.
OK, I realize now I should have put some sort of disclaimer at the top of this post, warning about the total geek-tone of the thing. Oh well.
Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention, Jessica Alba, who plays Invisible Girl (Sue Storm), has an underwear scene in FF. INVISIBLE GIRL IN HER SKIVVIES. yeah, my dreams are good for a while. BAsically until the WOnder Woman movie comes out.
Ok, time to wrap this pig up. Lusts: Sue Storm sans underwear, Jennifer Connnely, the new George R.R. Martin book, Pirates! for Xbox (out this week), more time to geek out. Current Reading: The Know-It-All, The Otori book 2, Chronicles of Narnia, an abundance of comics. Current Listening: Maximo Park, Sleater-Kinney, Bloc Party. Current color: Orange.
Tune in next time for more ramblings gauranteed to wastew your time...
