Not a pop, but a fizzle

So, according to my last post, I was to have some wild and crazy malt liquor fueled party time.
it didn't quite go down like that.
Rather, I polished off the 24oz. can of Crazy Horse, a pounder or two of high life, then called it a night. these are the wild times of my middle age.

So, I got myself a fancy-pants graphics card for my computer. It is very sexy, and I now find myself searching for some games that show this thing off. One game I've purchased is "City of Villians". An MMORPG (online role playing game) in which you get to create a villian and raise them in power. My first villian? The Plaid Scientist. A 4' angry scottish man who can control plants. Unfortunatly, they did not have a kilt as a costume choice, but - viola - I have a driving force behind the man.
I love that name, the Plaid Scientist. it's so perfectly stupid.

I really need to start being a bit more productive on the weekends. I'm trying to become more active, going to the gym on a regular basis, but Saturday and Sunday I try to stay in a constant state of stasis. This morning I watched a few episodes of the Mary Tyler Moore show, and i was amazed at how it seemed like all the characters did so much - socializing and what not. I think that as we become more advanced and have all this technology available at our finger tips, that we are generally becoming more hermitesque... being driven to not take part in society.
While, on the other hand, I've been playing the fore-mentioned game and can "chat" with anyone globally. It's one huge awe-inspiring mixed bag. At what price do we pay to be able to have boundless communication and knowledge? I don't mean to be a downer, but wasn't Rome some kind of technologically advanced super power? And where is it now? I hope history does not repeat itself. And if it does, well, where the hell are all the orgies and why haven't I been invited?

Ok, enough melancholy. I'm probably just a bit sullen as I am slightly hungover. The day after binge drinking always does that to me. Oh well, Family Guy tonight. that should cheer me up a bit.
